Projects Under Review

  • Project Reviews
    • We are making good progress on the project reviews, but we are in need of more usability surveys for our Flagship Projects.
    • The goal is to have at least 10 usability surveys filled out per project.
    • The plan is to start reaching out to users directly so we can get the necessary number of surveys filled out.
    • I will start reaching out to users individually come Monday.
  • Women in AppSec at AppSec APAC 2014
    • Kait, our Project and Program Intern, has kindly put together the necessary documentation for the Women in AppSec Program for AppSec APAC 2014.
    • We presented the documentation to the planning team, and they are in the process of reviewing it.
    • The documentation and marketing materials will be translated into Japanese as well.
    • We will start sending out application announcements once the translations are complete.
    • We will be having one award for one winner this time around.
  • ESAPI Hackathon
    • The ESAPI Hackathon has now come to an end.
    • The selection team has now consolidated the submissions.
    • They will begin the judging process shortly, and they hope to be able to announce the winner by next week.
    • The selection team is made up of: Kevin Wall, Jim Manico, Chris Schmidt, and Jeff Williams.
    • For more information, visit the Guidelines page or e-mail Chris, Kevin, or me directly.
  • Membership Flyer
    • I was able to finish off the new OWASP Membership Flyer this week.
    • Kelly and I were working on this together, trying to make sure that all relevant information was appropriately represented.
    • We had to re-create the flyer as we now have a new corporate membership model.
    • You can download the new flyer here.
  • 2014 Project Summit
    • I am currently working on the start of the 2014 Summit Planning Process.
    • I briefly spoke to the AppSec EU 2014 planning team about having the Summit at the same venue.
    • We are currently working out logistics and finances.
  • Daily Project based queries and requests
    • This has not changed much since I began the post: questions are very similar in nature.
    • Global AppSec questions.
    • Funding queries.
    • Travel availability.
    • Project based administrative help.
    • Project status information.
    • Several project donation questions.
    • Marketing questions.
    • Grant funding questions.
    • OWASP social media updates.
    • What's happening with projects, questions.
    • Managing Salesforce cases.

Project Review Assistance Required

Hello Leaders,

We are still in need of more survey results. We would like to ask that you take a bit of time to fill in a short survey that we will use to assess the Usability and Value of each project to its users and the community.

You can find the assessment survey here: Project Usability and Value Assessment

Below are the projects we are currently focusing on assessing:

Please note that this is only one part of the full assessment for each project. The more responses we can get for each project, the better. Please only complete the assessment if you are familiar with the project, or if you have time to familiarize yourself with the project. Thank you to those of you who have submitted your responses. Your assistance is very much appreciated.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your assistance, Leaders.
