Was reading the development guide page. I think that putting graphic artist as #1 is perfect. Us nerds always make pictures that only work for other nerds.

I happen to know a graphic artist that would meet the qualifications you ask for. I have no idea if he has the time to do such a project or the inclination. I would imagine that he would only do it if he was excited about it.

I don't know everything he has done but he has previously been the head graphic designer for several magazines and newspapers, graphic designer for WebLogic and many other BEA products, and, a usability specialist. He's also painted and arched dining room ceiling using a faux 3D style.

Github?

I think one of the biggest impediments to more participation in OWASP is that the site looks antiquated, wikis are intimidating (ironic as they were designed to be just the opposite), and it is unclear how to contribute to a project. Git, especially Github, has become the de facto standard for FOSS projects. And Github Pages look really good with little effort. Check out my blog at http://www.neilsmithline.com. Easy-peasy.

Github also facilitates the tracking and, more importantly, the discovery of interesting projects. It has built-in bug tracking and a wiki for user contributions if you want to use it. Pretty much all of Github's supported markup languages are easier than mediawiki.

All that said, I have no idea how you'd move to a new hosting platform. Moving the source code is easy. Github can likely import the history and you can just keep the old repo around for reference. But moving all of the pages... I'm not really sure how that would work.

Just a thought... Neil Smithline, http://www.neilsmithline.com 00:37, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
