I have 20+ years experience in IT management, network engineering, and data security. I've was the principle designer of electronic data transfer software for HIPAA data, servicing both provider and payer institutions and networks. At times I've assumed the role of Security officer responsible for Internet based security solutions using a variety of commercially available products. Part of my duties at times has been to educate and train incoming staff on the critical nature that security plays in our HIPAA based environment.
