Martin is a member of the Dutch OWASP chapter where he is an active member of the chapter board. Further, Martin is project lead of the OWASP on the move project, sponsoring the exchange of speakers between local OWASP chapters and the OWASP speaker project, categorizing speakers, presentations and subject areas. For the SoC 2008 project, Martin is project lead of the Education project, focusing on developing an OWASP Boot Camp.

Martin has extensive experience of systems development and architecture on small and complex Java systems. At Sogeti Nederland B.V. he founded the PaSS (Proactive Security Strategy) taskforce focusing on secure application development. PaSS is developing training and services for colleagues and customers in relation to secure application development. PaSS supports customers to realize Secure Development Processes by education, review, evaluation and (penetration) testing.
