My name is Jorge Flores. I am a 28 year old computer security analyst at Broward Health hospital. Although I am new to the security industry, I have had a long passion for technology. As a Y generation youth, I grew up in a very prestigious era. This era of instant communication with people around the world has evolved more and more everyday. Whether it is connecting through e-mails, video games, chat rooms, our culture has become what it is now due to technology. With great power comes great responsibility and with that, some people are not as responsible or as honest as others. This era of instant communication and technology created a culture of various groups and activists. Those who tampered with given technology sought out ways to manipulate and create new uses for personal use, curiosity or creative freedom. The term "hack" derived from these individuals who used their curiosity and skills to manipulate existing technologies. Fast forward to modern day 2014, and you have world wide nations developing individuals devoted to "hacking" rival national infrastructures to gain advantages or seeking economical growth. It's a beast that has devolved into a complex interconnected machine that is still in a very young stage of development. Here I am, in the middle of all of this trying to hop on the train and go on this exciting ride to a future that I only thought of fantasy in movies. I couldn't be in more exciting times in human history (in my opinion) and work in a profession so interesting and still developing. I love what I do and I aim to stay and see what our unforeseen future holds... Who knows what it holds, but if it's anything like what I've seen in movies, it's going to be very interesting.
