User:John Eder
Along with traditional business interests, Mr. Eder volunteers with social responsible organizations like the AIDS Care and Treatment Program in Ethiopia as a way to stay in touch with kindness. During his graduate summer internship, Mr. Eder spent 2 months in Ethiopia helping this HIV focused NGO develop an income generator for their beneficiaries, who live on less than $1 a day. Giving back to the community forms a core part of his business philosophy. Combining this philosophy with traditional business principles allows Mr. Eder to focus business strategies around value.
A more holistic field of study called Sustainable Business now offers a broader approach to creating value. Mr. Eder’s recent contribution to the University of North Carolina’s Center for Sustainable Enterprise (CSE) offered him more growth in the area of integrating social values with traditional risk management. This budding field of study takes a fresh look at the foundational principles of business and leverages social responsibility to advance their business models. Through these models Mr. Eder supported several CSE clients and provided these organizations with opportunities to improve social legitimacy and profitability simultaneously.

Along with risk management he also assisted in the development of formal strategies designed to improve operational performance and strengthen security across diverse industries.
As a security industry member Mr. Eder published several articles and co-authored a book. These publications enhanced the visibility of Experian as a leader in information protection, a critical area of public concern, especially where private sensitive information is concerned.
