I am an experienced Software Engineer/Architect with expertise in full life cycle software development, systems design and development--primarily for the bank check processing and image processing industry. I have worked in all aspects of full cycle software development as defined in IEEE recommendations, including project management, software design, implementation, testing and software configuration management.

I have an extensive background in banking and, in particular, check processing and image exchange. I have architected, designed, implemented, and delivered over 15 major software systems in the last 20 years. All of these systems are still in use today by multiple large financial institutions. These systems cover such needs as high-volume check and image capture systems, image archival and retrieval systems, image exchange, remittance processing, reject correction and repair, cash lettering, settlement, balancing, multiple site management, fraud detection, and workflow management tools.

I served on the ANS X9 board and was involved with establishing and promoting financial industry standards for image exchange. I also served on the Image Archive Forum and was an influential team member of the Paperless Automated Check Exchange and Settlement (PACES) project. The PACES project provided the development of functional requirements, specifications, and image-based rules to govern image exchange.

I also have a passion for the arts and have been involved for many years in artistic endeavors. I am a semi-professional photographer; accomplished musician and vocal soloist; competitive ballroom dancer; have served on the board of the Memphis Youth Symphony and the Memphis Christian Youth Choir; and currently serve as an advisor for the GPAC Youth Symphony sponsored by the Germantown Performing Arts Center. In my spare time I study topology, number theory, and quantum mechanics.
