  • Project Handbook and Summit Report
    • I have finished writing and putting together the OWASP Project Handbook and Summit Report.
    • Completion took quite a bit of time as both documents are quite lengthy, and full of content that had to be collected over time.
    • Below you can download each document.

    • 2013 OWASP Project Summit Report
  • Project Tool Summit 2014
    • I am still working on organizing logistics and proposals for the tool based Summit for 2014.
    • All of the proposals have been submitted.
    • There were four proposals submitted in total.
    • There were some budget adjustments that needed to be made, but those were sorted out this week.
    • Now we are just waiting for an answer.
  • Women in AppSec: AppSec APAC 2014
    • I continue to work with Laura and the AppSec APAC 2014 planning team to help make the Women in AppSec Program a success in the region.
    • We have the funds available to send one winner to the conference.
    • We are now just waiting for applicants to apply for the opportunity.
    • The local team is spreading the word on the Japan side, and I am working on communicating the opportunity via the OWASP social networks.
    • We hope to get at least 10 applicants this year.
  • ESAPI Hackathon
    • The ESAPI Hackathon is now over, but we still have quite a bit to coordinate.
    • We have announced the winners, informed them of their prizes, and we are in the process of coordinating the prize allocation.
    • The ESAPI T-shirt still need to be printed.
    • I am waiting to get the artwork so I can move forward with the printing and shipping process.
    • The gift cards and the ipad have already been awarded.
  • Daily Project based queries and requests
    • This has not changed much since I began the post: questions are very similar in nature.
    • Global AppSec questions.
    • Funding queries.
    • Travel availability.
    • Project based administrative help.
    • Project status information.
    • Several project donation questions.
    • Marketing questions.
    • Grant funding questions.
    • OWASP social media updates.

  2. Status: Awarded. Congratulations, Abraham Aranguren and all involved in the project, for your award.

OWASP ByWaf Project Looking for Python PROs

The OWASP ByWaf Project is looking for someone who can help them in deploying and multi-tasking in Python. The team have already tried Twisted and other threading libraries but they faced several issues they could not resolve. If you are interested, or know someone who would be, please don not hesitate to reach out to the Project Leader as soon as you can. If you are interested, please contact Rafael Gil ([email protected]).

OWASP Research Book Project

The OWASP Research Book Project is a new Incubator project that aims to collect and consolidate a collection of research papers that have been donated to OWASP. Ahmed Neil is still currently looking for contributors and authors to help him work on his idea. He hopes to be able to move this project forward as soon as he is able to gather some interest in the project. If you are interested, please contact Ahmed Neil ([email protected]).
