Grants and Fundraising Intern Weekly Report

Currently Working On

• DHS HOST Funding Mock Ups:
  • I am putting together mocks up for the Security Principles Project and Bywaf Project to get me more familiar with grant writing.
  • The task has been slow going since I am relying on project leaders to answer some of my questions and I've been battling a cold.
    • Assignment on-going

• Blackstone Veterans Grant Program proposal:
  • I have been reading over the proposal criteria for the Veterans Grant Program.
  • As of now, the program outline is not finished, and I can not yet start to actually draft a proposal, but I at least know what I need to include in the proposal.
    • Assignment on-going

Lessons Learned

• Taking cold medicine right before starting my assignments will only cause me to stare at the screen for half an hour.
• I'm not expected to know everything about a project and it's okay to ask questions of the project leads to get some insight.
