Grants and Fundraising Intern Weekly Report

Currently Working On

  • Marketing Resources Page
    • I added another piece to the list, and created zip toolboxes for several of the pieces.
  • Projects Summit
    • The attendees page was updated and I worked on the attendees bio page. I will continue to update both pages as more people sign up to attend the Projects Summit.
      • Assignment in progress
  • Promotion on Marketing Channels
    • Using the guidelines for eight sections, I created Facebook and Linked messages and tweets to promote the Project Summit and Project Talks.
    • So far, I have sent out a couple Facebook messages and starting from 11am everyday I have been tweeting every 15 minutes about various sessions and project talks. I will continue to do so up to AppSec.
      • Assignment in progress
  • Additional Summit Pages
    • The Open SAMM session page was create and added to the session list for the Projects Summit. I used the same template for the rest and filled in the information for Open SAMM.
      • Assignment completed

Lessons Learned

  • Creating catchy phrases to get people to register in less than 140 characters is more difficult than it sounds, but it gets easier after writing a few.
  • A catchy tweet will go a long way, which will hopefully mean more people will register.
  • If something can go wrong with the formatting of a page, it will.
  • I successfully linked the toolboxes for the marketing resources to immediate download, which is something I messed up on last week.
  • Twittered did away with the future tweet option, so I have to be on top of my game to tweet every 15 minutes. I went ahead and created a folder on my Google Drive that gave me a tweet every 15 minutes, which I then copy and past into the tweet box. This allows me to tweet from my phone and still get other work done.

Additional Comments

  • Signing up for SCHED is super easy and organized.
