From OWASP
Currently Working On
- Social Media for AppSec EU:
- Now that I have access to the OWASP social media accounts, I will be tweeting from the official OWASP accounts. Laura has asked me to tweet from the AppSec EU twitter account about the conference, sessions and programs.
- These tweets will be going out based on London time, so I have been using Hootsuite to schedule them ahead of time. Tweets start at 10am GMT, which is 2am PST for me.
- OpenSAMM Icons and Page:
- The new icons for OpenSAMM were posted to the Dropbox. I pulled them off the Dropbox and posted them to the Brand Resources page, with a toolbox download available for all the icons.
- A wiki page was also created for the icons, with information taken from the OpenSAMM publication, to post with each icon.
- Women in AppSec Blog Post:
- This week, I also got access to the OWASP Blog and since the deadline for Women in AppSec is coming up, I wrote a new post for a last call for applicants.
- Summit Banners:
- Some really nice banners were created for the individual sessions for the Project Summit. I took those from the Dropbox and put them above their respective session on the Project Summit page. There are still three sessions without banners, and once they are finished I will post them on the Project Summit page.
- OSS:
- The final count for the Open Source Showcase is in. I created a blog post detailing the OSS and the participating projects. This will be posted next week once we determine if the blog post has all the necessary information.
- New Projects on SalesForce:
- Samantha is starting to teach me how to set up SalesForce pages for new projects and then to take that information and create the wiki page on the OWASP page. From now on I will be starting to take over more responsibilities with new projects. Right now, I'm just creating the SalesForce account and project page, eventually Samantha will have me creating emails and mailing lists.
- Initiative Blog post:
- For the new OWASP Cyber Security Startup Initiative, I created a blog post announcing all of the information about the initiative and how to get involved.
Lessons Learned
- I'm happy to be doing wiki page creation again, I don't get to do so very often.
- It's excited to finally have access to the official OWASP social media accounts. Hopefully, this means my content will enjoy a wider audience.
Additional Comments
- I will be unreachable on Tuesday, as I will be travel. I won't be responding to emails until probably Wednesday.
