Projects/Internships/Weekly Report 02 21 2014
From OWASP
Project and Program Intern Weekly Report
Currently Working
- 2014 Project Summit:
- I started creating the wiki page for the 2014 Project Summit in Cambridge. So far I have drafted the markup for several sections based on the currently available information.
- A template from the 2013 Project Summit was modified to use for the summit attendees page in which I can begin adding names once we get closer to the Summit.
- DHS Proposal:
- Another proposal for the DHS Summit was drafted, this one for the Vicnum project.
- I used the template from the previous proposal I made.
- There should be two more projects that I will be creating proposals for soon.
- Project Leader Handbook 2014:
- The Project Leader Handbook for this year has been completed. It was my job to wikify the entire book and create a copy to put on the OWASP Lulu store.
- I'm still working on the cover. Lulu is giving me trouble, in that it's not letting me use the cover already created in the document PDF.
- 2013 Project Summit Report:
- Today, I created the wikified version of the 2013 Project Summit Report. I will be completing this over the weekend, as I have to recreate tables that I can't isolate on the PDF.
- After wikifing the report, I will create a copy of the Report on Lulu for printing.
Lessons Learned
- Lulu is still awful. I am putting a proposal for a shift to Amazon Direct Publishing, and I will be spending the weekend getting a feel for how Amazon Direct Publishing works and whether it is a viable option.
- Wikifing from a pdf takes forever. I still need to finish the Summit Report appendix, due to its sheer size, it will take me hours.
- While working on the 2014 Project Summit wiki page, I ran into some issues with the attendees page template. It took me a while to figure it out, but now that I have the hang of it, it will be easy to start adding people to the list.
Additional Comments
- I will be available to help with template migration and getting projects onto Ohloh.
