Project and Program Intern Weekly Report

Currently Working On

  • Template Migration:
    • I am continuing to help with template migration. There has been some great responses to the new template.
    • I created a spreadsheet to keep track of the projects who have migrated thus far and I will continue to update this as the migration continues.
  • Women in AppSec APAC Social Media:
    • From now until AppSec APAC I will be tweeting daily about the Women in AppSec program opportunity. Ever week I will be posting a Facebook message as well.
    • The call for submission for the Women in AppSec program ends February 24, so I will be making a hard push with the social media for the next two weeks.
  • OWASP Sponsorship Brochure:
    • Throughout the week I have been drafting a brochure about OWASP sponsorship and I selected 8 photographs to accompany the finished product.
    • This involved writing four separate sections, of over 300 each about the types and benefits of membership.
  • Ohloh and OWASP Repo Project:
    • By now most project leaders should have received an email from me about adding their projects to Ohloh.
    • I have created a spreadsheet to keep track of those projects that have been added to Ohloh, and in the near future, I will be adding projects to Ohloh at the project leader's request.

Lessons Learned

  • Project leaders do not always have the time to deal with simple things like template migration. I am freely available to help migrate any project that would like to move to the new template quickly.
  • The repo project took way longer than I originally thought, but I made it through.
  • Project leaders have thus far been a little hesitant with Ohloh, but I think it will be great to keep track of project progress and will be especially beneficial for projects that are looking to move up into the Labs stage.
