Project and Program Intern Weekly Report
Currently Working On
- Women in AppSec Program:
- This week I created material for the Women in AppSec Program for AppSec APAC, AppSec EU and AppSec USA. The documents I created are:
- Fundraising spreadsheet - for sponsors
- The selection criteria and important dates document - the criteria will be looked over by the individual committees and the dates were set to match the timeline of the different AppSec conferences.
- Application form - via Google forms
- Flyer copy - once the flyer is designed.
- I also created the social media posts for all three programs, including Facebook posts, blog posts and at least 5 tweets for each.
- On Tuesday, I listened in on the meeting with AppSec APAC leaders as they discussed the Women in AppSec program.

- Inactive Projects:
- Cycling through all the inactive projects on the OWASP wiki page, I added the newly designed inactive project banner and went through and added it to every inactive project page.
- I also created a tab on the projects page for inactive projects that outlined project abandonment and adoption. I then linked the inactive banner to the project page.
- Assignment complete
- Webinar Announcement:
- A draft announcing the new monthly webinar series was created which will be sent out to project leaders. I listed the open dates for interested project leaders.

- Template Migration:
- With the new and easier to navigate wiki template designed, I drafted an announcement to Flagship project leaders about migrating to the new wiki template.
- To test how smooth the migration would be, I migrated the newly adopted Hack Lab's wiki page to the new template, successfully.
- From now on, I will be available to assist in project wiki template migration.
- Assignment complete
- Membership Flyer:
- This one was simple, I just replaced the membership flyer currently on the brand resources page with the new membership flyer.

Lessons Learned
- The new project template really does make project information more accessible.
- I have a nagging worry that my tweets for AppSec APAC will not translate well into Japanese. However, that is not something I can really fix.
- From now on I need to double check my formatting, as was evident with the inactive project banner. The banner looked fine on my smaller screen, but on other screens it look too large and pixelated.
Additional Comments
- I will be at AppSec California on Monday, January 27 to attend Greg Disney-Leugers' talk on Mantra OS. In my spare time I run the social media for Mantra OS. As if anyone thought Greg was that witty with tweeting.
