WORKING SESSION IDENTIFICATION
Work Session Name	OWASP and Portuguese Public & Private Organizations
Short Work Session Description	Bring together the Portuguese Public Administration, Private Organizations and the OWASP community and to learn and design strategies on how OWASP work can positively contribute for their security operations and to establish a basis for strong multilateral cooperation.

WORKING SESSION SPECIFICS
Objectives	Promote a common comprehension on the work and projects being developed and promoted by OWASP Identify the major requirements from the application security point of view of most Public and Private organizations Define a cooperation strategy between the Public and Private organizations and OWASP, through the promotion of the Portuguese local OWASP chapter Promote the dissemination of OWASP through Public organizations (mainly Universities) as a mean to help Private organizations provide better application security services Discuss/Debate the importance of OWASP work (documentation and tools) to the accomplishment of the Lisbon Strategy and the Portuguese Government Technological Plan implementation and operation.

WORKING SESSION ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Aligned with strategy assumed by the Portuguese Government as a priority for the coming days, the development of more IT based systems, in particular those that will streamline the interaction between the different Public organizations and between Public organizations and individuals, will have an important role in this. As new tools are being developed and new important Public Administration processes get web-enabled it is important to work intrinsically in the prosecution of the application security best practices to ensure security and integrity of the applications and its data. OWASP as the worldwide leader in web application security can give an important contribution to this.
