Workshop Title: Hands on Secure Coding Workshop

Abstract: Do you think you can code securely? During this 3 hour workshop, the Secure Code Warrior team is going to brief you about the most common Web App weaknesses before letting you go nuts on the Secure Code Warrior platform for solving the challenges. Whether you are a junior developer in JAVA Spring or C# MVC/WebForms, application security professional, RoR or Python geek, senior software engineer or penetration tester ... this workshop will challenge your skills and provide you with an overview of your strengths and weaknesses in secure coding.

Who should attend this event? :

- Developers and Security people who want to know about secure coding.

Requirements for labs:

- Laptop that can connect to WiFi and has a modern browser with javascript enabled

- Basic understanding of either JAVA Enterprise, JAVA Spring, Ruby on Rails, C# MVC, C# WebForms or Python Django. There are some challenges on Android JAVA, Objective C and Node.js as well.

Bio: Pieter Danhieux is the Co-Founder and CEO of Secure Code Warrior, an innovative web-based corporate education and assessment platform where software developers use hands-on learning to build secure-coding skills.

Pieter is also a Principal instructor for the SANS Institute teaching military, government and private organisations offensive techniques on how to target and assess organisations, systems and individuals for security weaknesses. He also serves as an advisory board member of NVISO, a cyber security consulting company in Europe. Before starting his own company, Pieter worked at Ernst & Young and BAE Systems. He is also one of the Co-Founders of BruCON, one of the most awesome hacking conferences on this planet.

He is currently one of the select few people worldwide to hold the top certification GIAC Security Expert (GSE). He started his InfoSec career early in life and obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification as one of the youngest persons ever in Belgium. On his way, he collected a whole range of cyber security certificates (CISA, GCFA, GCIH, GPEN, GWAP, GSEC).
