Joe Blanchard

Joe has spent over 15 years both building and securing products for the government and financial sectors. Beginning his time as a developer, Joe would organize office brown bags and training sessions to anyone willing to listen to new techniques, tools and ideas in building software. Eventually crossing over to the dark side and continuing his passion for software security, Joe was able assist many more teams in securing their products. In time, Joe would go on to lead multiple security teams and develop a hands on sense of what does and doesn't work. During all of this Joe became involved with OWASP and helped to lead the Chicago, IL Chapter and later rebooting the St. Louis, MO Chapter that he still leads today. You'll often still find Joe happily volunteering at an OWASP event, debating a topic on Slack or commenting on the latest Whitepaper published. In a professional role, Joe currently serves a the Director of Product Security for a FinTech.
