This presentation will discuss the issues and challenges of Identity management across diverse groups and in providing web resources. It will look at the challenges of security, privacy, accessibility and discuss technologies such as SAML and Sibbboleth. Finally a brief overview of edugate.ie, a federation that provides federated access management to electronic web-based resources for education and research using SAML-based technologies such as Shibboleth.
