I'm a security technologist. What this means is that the bulk of my knowledge, experience and capabilities are related to security - specifically Information and IT security. I complement this with a good amount of experience in networking, servers (UNIX and Windows) and technologies such as Web servers, virtualization, etc.

I bring the most value when helping others evaluate, acquire, design, implement or assess security solutions. My current focus is on anti-fraud solutions for Web environments - protection for online banking, e-commerce, etc.... In the past, I've done lots of work around network perimeters (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS ...), Web security and some identity/authentication/access management. I do have product-specific experience (Cisco, Check Point, some Juniper, HP, etc..) but I prefer to highlight and focus on the broader technology skill set and 'soft skills' - communications, sales, relationship building, etc...

I'm currently a Solutions Architect (pre-sales) for RSA, the Security Division of EMC, focusing on our Fraud & Risk Intelligence (FRI) portfolio, with a strong focus on RSA SilverTail. SilverTail provides a Web Session Intelligence layer that helps organizations detect application-level anomalies in Web traffic that can point to malicious activity.

My previous experience includes pre-sales and post-sales support, professional services and security operations, working in enterprise and service provider environments/customers.

I keep track of broad fraud/malware/... and security/network industry trends. I have a particular interest in the economic and behavioural impacts of fraudulent activity on electronic transactions.
