Calvin Ko has over 16 years of experience in computer security with particular focus on intrusion detection/prevention, cyber attacks, and vulnerabilities. He graduated from UC Davis with a PhD on computer science. He pioneered the specification-based approach to intrusion detection, which has been adopted in various commercial products. He has authored or coauthored over 20 technical papers and is co-inventor of 7 U.S Patents on techniques for detecting malware and cyber attacks. Calvin also taught security at San Jose State University and California State University, Hayward.
