Don serves as the Career Readiness Director at i.c.stars as well as the CEO of a leading boutique IT executive search firm, Kinney Search Group. Don has spent over 16-years specializing in executive search within the information technology sector. A tireless relationship builder, Don has achieved “trusted advisor” status to hundreds of C-Level and Human Resources Executives, not only assisting them in their personal career decisions, but also in building out their executive teams. Don has also been responsible for search assignments across a wide variety of industries including: Media, Healthcare, Logistics/Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Financial Institutions, Professional Services, and New Economy Start-ups. He began his career with a national executive search firm in Chicago. As the Managing Director and Founder of the Information Technology Recruiting Practice, Don was instrumental in developing and managing the largest producing sector in the firm. Don furthered his experience in technology service as a Management Consultant to a “Big 5” International Consulting Firm, and a Vice President of Technology Search & Start-ups at a top 10 Global Retained Search Firm in NYC. Don is very active in the IT executive community as a long-time member of the Society for Information Management (SIM), and was Co-founder and President of the Illinois CIO Exchange (now ITEEX), an executive membership organization serving IT Executive leadership in the state of Illinois. Don earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and resides in Chicago, IL with his Wife and two Sons.
