CTF (Capture The Flag) contests are popular ways to hone your practical security skills by solving challenges on topics such as web, crypto, reverse, exploiting.

We invite everyone passionate about practical security at the OWASP AppSec 2016 CTF, where you and your team will solve challenges on web, reverse and exploiting. Challenges will be Linux-centric.

The CTF will feature a qualifiers session and the finals session. Both sessions will feature web, reverse and exploiting challenges.

The qualifiers will take place on Saturday, September 25, 2016, for 12 hours, from 9am to 9pm. It will take place online and a team may feature any number of players. The top 5 teams will make it to the finals. You will create a team account by September 23, 2016 and all team members will use it to read the challenge statements and submit flags. We will announce the CTF site where you will create the accounts by September 1, 2016.

The top 5 teams from the qualifiers will provide a list of team members (name and e-mail addresses) by September 30, 2016, to register for the finals. The finals will take place during the OWASP Bucharest AppSec 2016 conference, on site, for 8 hours, from 9am to 5pm. Team qualified for the finals will consist of at most 5 players; everyone has to be on site at the conference.

Hope you can make it to the finals. You’ll have tons of fun!
