Founder of the free (libre) software movement and the Free Software Foundation. Lead developer of the GNU operating system, which when combined with the kernel Linux yields the GNU/Linux system. "Open source" is basically the free software movement minus its ethical principles. that is not what I advocate, so please don't associate me with it.
