With a background in web application programming and troubleshooting problems for a Java based BPM suite product , I delved into the world of security with Application security and Authentication concerns. Taking up studies to hone skills in the cybersecurity field I started off with the Certified Ethical Hacker certification and found it to be an engagingly interesting field and wish to work more to gain expertise. Recently I was exposed to the rather new and unconventional methods of operational intelligence with data science and machine learning with the Data driven security book by Bob Rudis and Jay Jacobs and am completely impressed by the work Alex Pinto has done in MLSecproject. In my recent co-op role at NBC Universal I understood the major challenges a company faces in getting the most visibility and data out of deployed tools and security program , how threat intelligence needs to be a constant revision based effort . I would like to build further industry insights to understand how we can utilize machine learning into making Incident Response and Threat Intelligence more effective.
