How do I participate
Purchase a full price - $50 USD - OWASP Membership (or renew your membership) during between July 1 and July 8, 2012, and 40% of your membership fee will automatically be allocated to the OWASP Project Reboot Initiative.
Additionally, you will be entered into a drawing on July 10, 2012 for entry to one of 6 possible prizes: 2 people will be selected to receive a full briefing pass to BlackHat USA 2012 and 4 people will receive complimentary admission to an OWASP Global AppSec Conference of their choice. So you have 6 chances to win entry to an educational event all over the world!
Timeline
June 30, 2012: Announcement of Membership Drive & Raffle Rules
July 1, 2012: First day to purchase an OWASP membership for eligibility in the Raffle
July 8, 2012: Last day to purchase an OWASP membership for eligibility in the Raffle
July 9, 2012: Eligible Members (who have purchased or renewed their membership betwwen July 1 and July 8, 2012)will be posted along with their raffle number on this wiki page.
July 10, 2012: OWASP AppSec Research in Athens Greece at 3pm UTC/GMT via GotoWebinar: You do NOT need to be present to WIN!
Raffle Logistics
All individuals who sign up for a new OWASP membership or renew their existing memberships starting between July 1, 2012 and July 8, 2012 will be assigned a number, then we will use http://www.random.org/ to generate 6 random numbers for the 6 giveaway items.
On Monday, July 9 we will post the list of eligible members along with their assigned number for the raffle on this website.
The prizes will be awarded in the following order: the first (4) numbers drawn will be awarded the (4) passes to the OWASP Global AppSec Conference of their choice, the fifth and sixth numbers drawn will be awarded the two BlackHat briefing passes.
Winners can use the conference passes without restriction and they are fully transferrable: they can attend themselves, bring there dog if they are already going, give it to a homeless guy, bring a wife, kid, co-worker, etc.
You need not be present during the raffle to win, we are holding the drawing live to ensure transparency into our selection process. Immediately after the raffle, the winners will be contacted via email (email address provided at the time of purchasing the membership) with instructions on how to utilize their passes.
