OWASP Manchester
Welcome to the Manchester chapter homepage. This UK chapter was started in 2011, having grown out of the successful Leeds_UK chapter.

Participation
OWASP Foundation (Overview Slides) is a professional association of global members and is open to anyone interested in learning more about software security. Local chapters are run independently and guided by the Chapter_Leader_Handbook. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional association your support and sponsorship of any meeting venue and/or refreshments is tax-deductible. Financial contributions should only be made online using the authorized online chapter donation button. Abstract: Every new device we create, every sensor we deploy, every byte we synchronize to other locations will at some point come under scrutiny in the course of investigations and legal matters. Yet no reliable forensics applications nor digital forensics guidance exists to retrieve the data from IoT devices in the event of a cyber event, an active investigation or a litigation request. The digital forensics of internet of things (IoT) technologies is the missing conversation in our headlong rush to the promise of connecting every device on the planet. This presentation discuss about issues and importance of further development in this field and elaborates on how forensics practitioners, device manufacturers and legal authorities could share the efforts and minimise this gap.
