The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) has local chapters around the world that help teach, learn, and inspire application security. Our College Chapters program helps to extend application security into colleges and universities worldwide.

Who we are: University of Texas Student Chapter of OWASP at Austin, TX

What is OWASP: Open Web Application Security Project, the world wide not-for-profit charitable organization focused on improving the security of software. www.owasp.org

What is our goals: To raise awareness of computer security. To learn the ways of safe software security practices in order to make informed decisions on software security risks. To teach our knowledge to future young professionals.

How will we do it: We plan to hold guest-lecture meetings with security professionals from leading industry companies. We plan to host/attend academic hack-a-thons as well as attend local security conferences.
