Local News

In June's OWASP Brisbane Chapter meeting, Georg Lippold will present a session titled "Securing Web Services with Cryptography".

Security in Web Services is a very important topic, as recent attacks on the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) have shown. Using the PSN attack as an example, we will identify attack vectors and possible prevention strategies. A short overview of cryptographic techniques that help prevent the leakage of information to unauthorized parties will conclude the talk.

Georg Lippold obtained his Ph.D in cryptography from the Information Security Institute at Queensland University of Technology in December 2010. He received his Dipl.-Inf. in Computer Science from University of Bremen, Germany in 2006. Georg is interested in cryptography, security, and is currently implementing the Queensland Government PKI framework for a government agency.
