OWASP Washington VA

Welcome to the Washington VA chapter homepage. The chapter leader is Stan Wisseman


OWASP Foundation (Overview Slides) is a professional association of global members and is open to anyone interested in learning more about software security. Local chapters are run independently and guided by the Chapter_Leader_Handbook. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional association your support and sponsorship of any meeting venue and/or refreshments is tax-deductible. Last Month

We were blessed with a couple of good presentations from Cigital on 15 February:

"Add & Edit Cookies Firefox plugin", Ben Walther from Cigital. This plugin allows someone to see what cookies are set in their browser, modify them, delete them, etc.

Next Meeting

Our next meeting will be on 8 March, at 6pm. The presentations will be:

"8 Dirty Secrets of IA", Bruce Potter from Booz Allen. Bruce is currently a Senior Associate involved with wireless security, software security, and many other areas including leading the upcoming ShmooCon (

"Benefits of ISACA National Capital Area Chapter (NCAC)", Inno Eroraha (ISACA NCAC liason, NetSecurity)

"Web Services Hacking and Hardening", Adam Vincent from Layer 7. Adam leads the federal technical solutions team of Layer 7. He was formerly of The MITRE Corporation where he specialized in security around XML, SOA, and Net-Centric Information Sharing.

All are very dynamic speakers and it should lead to some very good discussions.

Pizza and drinks will be provided for a small fee.
