Auckland-area Leader, OWASP New Zealand Chapter

Application Security Architect, currently living and working in Auckland, New Zealand.

Started out building and maintaining simulations of US military distributed command-and-control (C2) systems, moved into simulations of US air traffic control systems.

Earned doctorate in Operations Research, focusing on discrete-event simulation. Creator of OpenSML simulation "language" (Java API).

Moved to Web application development and architecture full-time in 2005, and shifted to application security in 2014. Primary areas of focus include: secure coding, automated testing, developer education, and software assurance program maturity.
