Upcoming Meetings

February 23rd, 2016

Location: Kauffman Foundation Conference Center - 4801 Rockhill Road, Kansas City, MO - Brookside Room Speaker: Justin Ferguson - OWASP Kansas City

Bro, do you even AppSec?: Real-World Application Security Case Studies

We will go in-depth with several recently-published Application Security vulnerabilities, to show how inattention to AppSec can have real-world consequences (or maybe just help a hacker get a free lunch). If you're trying to make a case for an AppSec program in your workplace, this presentation might just give you some ideas. If you're an InfoSec guy trying to explain to your developers what this AppSec thing is all about, bring them along!

Our OWASP Project Spotlight this month will be on the OWASP Zap Proxy, which is a valuable tool for discovering some of the vulnerabilities we'll be talking about as well. We'll also try to devote part of our meeting time to general discussion/networking.

Please note:

  • Attendance at an OWASP chapter meeting is free and open to anyone interested in web application and software security.
  • Registration at the Eventbrite is appreciated so we know how many to expect, but not required.
  • Professionals with CISSPs, or other certifications, can earn CPE credits by attending.

Or, get a discussion going by posting a message to our mailing list.

Past Meetings

Thanks to the speakers for sharing with us at our past chapter meetings. Any presentation handouts or associated documents are shared through the following meeting summaries:
