About

The OWASP C/C++ Technology Initiative is the clearing house for all information related to building secure distributed applications and services based on C and C++ technologies. The focus of the project is on guidance for developers and application architects on using C/C++ and C/C++ frameworks and libraries. Moreover, we aim to provide security related guidance for system administrators managing C/C++ based distributed applications and tools.

Community content is key to security information. The initiative depends on content from developers throughout the C/C++ ecosystem.

Purpose

  • Provide deep, rich guidance for C/C++ developers in using the security features of C/C++ and of C/C++ frameworks.
  • Address security in relation to C/C++ and derived technologies.
  • Guide system administrators in managing C/C++ related components and applications.
  • Create guidance for use of OWASP components that are designed for use with C or C++.
  • Focus on information about working with and on OWASP tools built using C/C++ or other C/C++ related technologies.
  • Provide a stream of security related information, like vulnerabilities and security patches, related to the C and C++ universe.
  • Build an ecosystem allowing to all actors interested to discuss, share and learn.
