Call For Talks

Do you have an interesting topic about which you would like to give a talk to the OWASP Belgium community?
We'd like to help you make that happen!

Benefits For You

  • Increase the popularity of your project / discovery / idea etc.
  • Get feedback from the audience, so you can improve your project / discovery / idea etc.
  • Raise your profile in the community.
  • Add to the "Talks" section of your CV.
  • Practice your public speaking.
  • A good feeling from giving back to the community.

Procedure

  1. You get in touch with us (the OWASP Belgium Chapter board), proposing the topic (at least title and an abstract/summary):
    • Talk to one of us at a Chapter Meeting or at another conference.
    • Send an email to T.B.D..
  2. We validate your proposal and respond whether we want to pursue your idea.
  3. You send us the presentation material (slide deck, video clips etc.).
  4. We send you feedback if necessary.
  5. We all find a chapter meeting which would work for everybody.
  6. You send us more context information for publication on the wiki page of the chapter meeting:
    • Your bio;
    • Possibly your affiliation if you present on behalf of an organisation;
    • If you so desire, contact information for you and for your organisation (social media handles, web page etc.).
  7. We publish information about the chapter meeting, including the information you've sent us, and we advertise it.
  8. You come to the agreed chapter meeting and give your presentation.

Talk Format

  • The talk should take 50 minutes, of which you should allow at least 10 minutes for questions.
  • The content of the talk must not be of a commercial nature.

Logistics

You will bring the computer from which you will present, especially if there is a demo part. We will provide a backup computer, projector, wireless presenter / laser pointer etc.
