I mainly work with opensource tools, because of the <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">flexibility and </del>power they have to offer. <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Someday </del>I <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">hope </del>to <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">create that software which will impact many lives in a good way</del>, but <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">until then </del>I'<del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">m just learning as much as I can and contributing </del>to the <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Opensource community whatever I'm able </del>to <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">by answering questions on forums, participating in IRC chats with developers across the board, subscribing to mailing lists to see </del>how <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">best I can understand </del>and <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">contribute back to some of </del>the <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">tools I use for development </del>and also to get a <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">sense </del>of how <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">other developers like myself are using them </del>to create <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">awesome things</del>.

+

Software Engineer from Jamaica, WI. Very passionate about technology, the way it is evolving and what it has to offer. I'm a <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">fan of Ruby</ins>, <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Ruby on Rails</ins>, Python, <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Java, Scala</ins>, <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Objective-C</ins>, and <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Hypermedia APIs</ins>. I mainly work with opensource tools, because of <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">their flexibility, </ins>the power they have to offer <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">and most importantly the community of developers that helps to build and enhance them</ins>. <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">Also, </ins>I <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">occasionally dabble in C# and Android </ins>to <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">build cool stuff</ins>, but <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">my primary area of concentration is creating Web Applications. So, </ins>I'<ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">ve started </ins>to <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">venture into </ins>the <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">deep end of various web frameworks </ins>to <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">learn </ins>how <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">they work </ins>and <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">why they work </ins>the <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">way they do </ins>and also to get a <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">better understanding </ins>of how to create <ins class="diffchange diffchange-inline">better APIs, because my aim is to contribute to a better web experience in the future</ins>.

Recently, I read in a post on Quora.com that "passion for something is not achieved until we have fail at it", in a sense I can agree with that statement, but I think that if you truly do something that you cannot wait to see everyday or it is always on your mind, something that you really love, then it is passion. There is <del class="diffchange diffchange-inline">also </del>this quote from a passed Computer Science lecturer of Carnegie Mellon University that goes, "Good judgment comes from experience, experience comes from bad judgment. If things aren’t going well it probably means you are learning a lot and things will go better later. --- Randy Pausch". I particularly like this quote, because it somehow applies to me in the sense of my work. However, with all this said, I do spend a lot of time nowadays on the things that matter most to me (family, friends, programming), because at the end of the day, if we software engineers or anyone in particular who specializes in a field neglect these things, we not only fail as a human, but we also fail at life in general.

+

I take pride in my work, as I like to see well built software.
