Statement of Goals

· Encourage collaboration with other information security organizations

· Engage OWASP chapters to share their successes, strategies, and templates to help build strong chapters worldwide

· Work with other information security organizations to bring more benefits to OWASP membership, such as discounts at InfoSec events around the globe

· Ensure the knowledge transfer of threats, technologies, strategies, and regulatory policies to help our members successfully implement strategies at their companies and organizations

· Support enterprise objectives by educating members on the relationship between IT and the business, business processes, and business risks

· Advocate for OWASP to have a lead role in helping to build partnerships between private industry and the public sector, to protect critical infrastructure and networks

· Reach out to achieve more participation from the community

· Encourage meeting attendees and other supporters to join OWASP

· Help grow the Cyber Secure Community by reaching out to business leaders

· Share knowledge and experience with fellow security professionals

· Encourage and create safe haven for upcoming speakers to present at monthly meetings

Achievements

· Maintained one meeting every month since 2008, with 65-95 attendees since January 2011

· Helped to build up the Orange County OWAP Chapter; they are now having monthly meetings with 30-40 attendees

· Working collaboratively with other security organizations: joint meetings twice a year with ISSA Los Angeles

· Regularly speak and/or have a presence at other security events, such as ISSA LA Security Summit, BSides, Scale 11x, ISSA OC Security Symposium, etc

· Planning and hosting a statewide OWASP Security Summit, AppSec California, in January 2014

· Have world-class speakers, like Jim Manico, Ed Bonver, Cassio Goldschmidt, Chris Wysopal, and Tin Zaw, at monthly meetings

· Helped create and modify Co-Marketing Agreements with other organizations, such as ISSA and EC-Council
